Confirmation, and Weddings.  Our liturgy and

We are available to our parishioners to support
and comfort through our ministry of Anointing the
Sick, in times of difficulty, loss and at funerals .
Since individual needs vary, we encourage you to
contact the Parish  for guidance and appropriate
consideration.
Reconciliation -  3:00 - 3:45PM Every Saturday the sacrament celebrating the
forgiveness of sins and the reconciliation of the individual with God, the Church, and others is
offered before Mass. "Those who approach the sacrament of Penance obtain pardon from
God's mercy for the offense committed against him." Has it been a long time since your last
confession?  Need making a good confession and returning to the joy of the Power of the Holy
Spirit. Do not hesitate to ask for guidance and assistance from our Pastor.
Baptism - Baptism is the "gateway sacrament into the Church." Through the sacrament of
Baptism all are reborn in Christ through water and the Holy Spirit. Holy Baptism is the basis of
the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit and the door which gives access to the
other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we
become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her
mission: "Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word."
Expected
parents are encouraged to contact the Parish prior to the birth of their child(ren) to make
Baptismal arrangements.
Godparents are required to participate in a Preparation Program
offered on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.

Marriage - Couples should contact the Parish Office at least six (6) months prior to their
Wedding Day for proper assistance. St. Brigid Parish has set aside special Masses in
February, June and October @ 11:00 AM to celebrate Wedding Anniversaries.  Please, make
plans to join us in the celebration of unity and love!  "The intimate community of life and love
which constitutes the married state has been established by the Creator and endowed by him
with its own proper laws.... God himself is the author of marriage."

Confirmation - Recognition of God's Holy Spirit in our lives is celebrated in the reception
of Confirmation. Preparation classes for High School students ready to make the commitment
are pre-scheduled on Sunday mornings.  The Sacrament is celebrated annually in the Fall.
Contact the Parish for assistance.  Baptism, the Eucharist, and the sacrament of Confirmation
together constitute the "sacraments of Christian initiation," whose unity must be safeguarded.
You receive the spiritual seal, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of right
judgment and courage, the spirit of knowledge and reverence, the spirit of holy fear in God's
presence. Guard what you receive. God the Father will mark you with his sign; Christ the Lord
confirms you and places his pledge, the Spirit, in your hearts.

RCIA -  The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, is the process adult converts go through
to come into full communion with the Catholic Church. . Each person preparing to accept the
teachings of the Catholic church chooses a sponsor (an active, practicing Catholic) to walk
with and support her/him on his/her faith journey.  The RCIA process is divided into several
stages, or phases. Progression from one phase to the next is celebrated during Mass, amid
the parish community.   A process of Prayer Study and Spiritual Formation is held on Sunday
mornings. The Celebration of the entrance of adults into our community occurs at the Easter
Vigil.  All interested in the Catholic Faith are invited to attend.  Contact the Parish Office for
more information.

Religious Education - A program for students grades K through 8 is held on Sunday
mornings from September through April.  For more information

Sacrament for the Sick - The Sacrament of Anointing is not only for those who
may be near death.  Parishioners who plan to enter the hospital are encouraged to receive the
Sacrament PRIOR to admission.  "This sacred anointing of the sick was instituted by Christ
our Lord as a true and proper sacrament of the New Testament. It is alluded to indeed by
Mark, but is recommended to the faithful and promulgated by James the apostle and brother
of the Lord"  The anointing of the sick conveys several graces and imparts gifts of
strengthening in the Holy Spirit against anxiety, discouragement, and temptation, and conveys
peace and fortitude.
